Customized Media Filters

DEEP BED MEDIA FILTERS FOR  INDUSTRIAL & RURAL APPLICATIONS
Dix Engineering has recently been involved in discussions with several clients requiring advice and a filtration
solution adapted to their specific needs. Whilst our standard tank is typically used with sand (16/30 quite common), we are also able to manufacture stainless steel media tanks with deeper beds (600mm+) for use with mixed beds (e.g. gravel, sand and anthracite); catalytic media such as DMI65 (iron and manganese removal), or for zeolite (e.g. for swimming pools or when finer filtration than sand is required).

TANKS WITH HIGHER PRESSURE RATING
10 Bar 1200mm Stainless Steel Tanks
We recently quoted some 10 bar tanks with minor changes to our regular design. The thicker material required and other minor detail changes only add around 10% to the cost!
Our standard 1200mm tanks are now rated for 7 Bar working pressure.
In response to client demand, recent design alterations to our 1200mm tanks has led to a re-rating of maximum pressure to 700 kPa from 550 kPa. This is helpful in areas with undulating terrain.

TANKS WITH HIGH CORROSION RESISTANCE
We are also able to manufacture stainless steel media tanks from more corrosion resistant materials (e.g. SS 316, SS 2205 for use in salty or sea-water). Cost is approximately 40-60% higher depending upon material chosen, mostly driven by higher raw material expense.

SOME RECENT PROJECT SOLUTIONS
Media filter system using zeolite to filter rainwater and dam water (separate systems), to sub 10 micron, as a pre-filter in a winery (wash down and cooling tower make-up).
Media filter system using DMI65 to remove metals (e.g. iron & manganese) from coal seam gas waste water as pre-filter before Reverse Osmosis treatment membranes.
